“After the rain, the sun will reappear. There is life. After the pain, the joy will still be here” This Friday is the rescheduled 28th Annual Community Peace Celebration! The rain may have delayed our time together, but we are so excited to dance, sing, and break bread with you! All roads lead to the Western Sculpture Park, 387 Marion St from 2 pm to 6pm!
We have an amazing lineup of artists including our joint emcees, the beloved Regional Emmy Award winning actor, vocalist, arts educator and community organizer, T Mychael Rambo and the inspiring transformational speaker, Will Flowers. With exciting performances by singer/actress Tearra Oso, jazz band The Rondo All-Stars, traditional Mexican-Nahua cultural group Kalpulli Yaocenoxtli, Cameroonian music artist Ewangson, youth leaders collective BYHAC Pop Up Team, energetic performer MaJay and more!
Fun activities and helpful information will be available for the whole family powered by our community exhibitors: Capitol Region Watershed District, Science Museum of Minnesota, Summit University Rondo, Dispute Resolution Center, Mississippi Market, Prodeo Academy, Victoria Theater Arts Center, Friends for a NonViolent World, LifeSource, Showing Up for Racial Justice-TC, Cultural Wellness Center, Holistic Health Farms, League of Women Voters, Youth Leadership Initiative, Minnesota Farm Service Agency and Urban Farm and Garden Alliance and resident artists Mayumi and WOW. A delicious and free meal will be provided by our resident Grillmaster, Toussaint!
Exciting news! In case of rain, we have a backup plan to move the event indoors to the amazing Indigenous Roots at 788 Seventh St E Saint Paul, MN 55106. How convenient is that? Let's hope for sunshine, but rest assured we've got you covered!
